Food - Community - Change

Food - grown in an ecosystem.

One of the biggest problems we face in food, farming, environment and society is disconnection. Not just disconnection between eaters and farmers, we hear about that all the time.

We worry about disconnection between farming and ecosystems. Food produced in sheds, food produced by industrial processes, food produced by huge corporations that answer to nobody.

Food production that poisons rivers and bulldozes trees and erodes topsoil.

We work every day to contribute to a thriving alternative system, where we can grow beef and sugar gliders, pigs and pale headed rosellas, chickens and applebox trees.

Community - together, we can eat like we’re rich.

Or maybe just eat the rich?

The food system we’re used to sucks. Individuals are told what to eat by supermarkets and we do it. Farmers are told what their food is worth, regardless of what it cost to produce it. We’re powerless in the face of machines this big.

It’s an uncertain world these days, but we know one thing for sure: we are better off sticking together. We can’t have a thriving food system without it.

So we get out there and build community - deeply connecting with our CSA members, working with other farmers (who capitalism wants us to treat as competitors rather than collaborators) and doing what we can.

If we build a big enough, resilient enough, loud enough food system, we can challenge the status quo. When we do that, everyone will have access to good food like ours - not just those who can afford it.

Change - to a world worth living in..

Imagine if we did it? If our little farm thrived, alongside a thousand others. If millions of people got to eat delicious, ethical, local food? If this took power out of the hands of big business and finance? If a decentralised system brought jobs and opportunity back to rural towns? If farming alongside nature became normal? If animals were treated with dignity and respect?

Fuck yes, count us in. We hope you’ll be there with us.
